"How much does car detailing cost?" is the question we get asked more than any other, and the honest answer used to be "it depends." It does depend, but not as much as people think. Our starting prices are published, they're based on three vehicle sizes, and everything below comes straight from our current price list.
This guide breaks down what each service costs on the Gold Coast, what moves the price up or down, and how to match your car to the right service, so you're not comparing a wash from $130 against a restoration from $620 as if they were the same thing.
Quick answer: Mobile car detailing on the Gold Coast starts from $130 for a detailed exterior wash and $250 for an inside-and-out Mini Detail. Interior-only details start from $180, a Pre-Sale Detail from $620, paint correction from $400, and ceramic coating from $600. Every price is a starting price, set by vehicle size, and excludes GST.

What Each Service Is Actually For
Maintenance Detailing (from $130)
For cars that are already in good condition. Level 1 is a proper detailed wash: iron remover soak, door jambs, alkaline snow foam, pH-neutral contact wash and a blow dry. Level 2 adds a full vacuum and screen clean, and Level 3 adds leather protectant, vents and crevices, glass and minor stain removal. It's priced lower than a one-off detail because the hard work has already been done. Our maintenance detailing page has the full breakdown.
Mini Detail (from $250)
An inside-and-out clean for a car that hasn't been detailed in around 3–6 months and has no major staining. It includes a full exterior wash and decontamination plus an interior vacuum, wipe-down and scrub. It doesn't include shampoo extraction or paint correction, but both can be added.
Interior Details (from $180)
If only the inside needs attention, a dedicated interior detail is more cost-effective than a combined package. The Mini Interior (from $180) suits cars that are regularly maintained. The Full Interior (from $270) adds steam cleaning, full shampoo extraction and conditioning for heavily soiled interiors, pet hair and odours.
Pre-Sale Detail (from $620)
For a car that hasn't been properly detailed in 6–12 months and has staining or grime build-up. It includes steam clean and shampoo extraction, stain removal where possible, leather conditioning and a paint enhancement. It does not include full paint correction.
Paint Correction (from $400)
Paint correction starts with a Paint Enhancement from $400 and goes up through Single Stage and Dual Stage levels for heavily swirled or oxidised paint. Cost scales with how much clear coat work the paint actually needs, which is why we inspect before committing. If you're weighing the levels up, see our paint correction page.
Ceramic Coating (from $600)
Gtechniq CSL with an EXO top coat, in three packages from paint-only through to a full vehicle including interior surfaces. The Paint Protection package starts from $600. Paint correction is priced separately because it depends entirely on the state of your paint. More detail on our ceramic coating page.
What Moves the Price Up or Down
- Vehicle size. More surface area means more time and product, which is why every service has small, medium and large pricing.
- Condition and time since the last detail. A car that's been looked after is quicker to work on than one that's gone a year without attention.
- Interior extras. Heavy staining, pet hair and odours push you toward the Full Interior. Add-ons include headliner cleaning ($20+), seat stain removal ($20+), ozone odour treatment (from $60) and plastic protection (from $40 on the Mini Interior).
- Paint condition. Severity of defects, how hard or soft the paint is, and the result you're after all affect which correction level is appropriate.
- Your expectations. Sand, for example, can't be 100% removed from a car interior. We'll tell you what's realistic before we start rather than promise something that isn't physically possible.
Which Service Should You Start With?
| Your situation | Start with |
|---|---|
| Detailed recently and the car is in good condition | Maintenance Detailing |
| 3–6 months since the last detail, no major staining | Mini Detail |
| 6–12 months or more, visible staining and grime | Pre-Sale Detail |
| Only the inside needs work | Mini or Full Interior Detail |
| Visible swirl marks or dull paint | Paint Enhancement or Paint Correction |
| Want long-term protection | Ceramic Coating (after correction if needed) |
Why Regular Detailing Costs Less Than Catching Up
Look at the ladder: a Full Maintenance Detail starts at $175, a Mini Detail at $250, a Pre-Sale Detail at $620, and paint correction starts at $400 on top of that. The longer a car goes without attention, the further up that ladder it moves. Contamination bonds to the paint, water spots etch into the clear coat and interiors build up stains that take steam and extraction to shift.
That's the reason we recommend staying on a schedule rather than waiting until the car looks bad. We cover how often in our guide on how often to detail your car on the Gold Coast.
